Red carpet prom dresses are popular

September 16th, 2008

Red carpet prom dresses are very popular these days, and it’s a sign that we are greatly influenced by magazines, movies, and images they see online when they are looking for evening wear. While some young ladies to decide to wear a full-skirted ball gown on prom night, this is not as common a practice as it was in previous years.

Now prom dresses are more likely to take their inspiration from the glamorous looks of yesteryear and young ladies want to look sophisticated rather than sweet. When celebrities show up at public events wearing, say, strapless gowns, then it follows that young consumers will want to imitate them when they are shopping for their own evening wear.

If celebrities decide to wear bright colors, then look for that trend to show up in retail stores as well. Red carpet prom dresses for 2008 were available in various shades of purple, as well as in soft fabrics, like chiffon. Taffeta and silk charmeuse still show up on prom dresses, but not all young women want to wear those types of heavier fabrics.

Bows and ruffles also jazz up the look of red carpet prom dresses that are being worn these days. Go for a strapless, spaghetti strap look, or wide crisscross straps in your prom look. All of these styles are readily available in a rainbow of colors.

Another trend in red carpet prom dresses is the emergence of the short dress as prom wear. Hemlines are definitely on their way up, as more young ladies decide that long prom dresses aren’t for them. They are choosing to wear dresses with a lot of detailing in the form of sequins and beading. Prom dresses with bubble skirts are being seen more often, and they are a very trendy look for young women.

The Alyce collection includes a gold strapless gown with a ruched bodice and a long tulle skirt that will make you feel as if you should be on the red carpet yourself! Another look inspired by celebrity fashions available to young women preparing for their prom is the rich, mauve dress from the Terrani collection. At first glance, it appears to be a plain, strapless dress, but the color is accented by a zebra-striped sash that extends down the back to the hemline.

If your version of red carpet prom dresses includes sequins, you will definitely want to look at the gowns from the Scala line. You will find a number of sequined prom dresses, as well as some that have more subtle forms of adornment on them. Be as flashy or as understated as you like on prom night, but no matter which one you choose, you will look absolutely lovely.

Taking inspiration from celebrities when it comes to red carpet prom dresses is a great idea, and prom night is your night to shine as you celebrate the end of one time of your life and look forward to the next.

Choosing the Prom shoes for your Clarisse prom dress

January 19th, 2008

Choosing the Ideal Prom Shoes for Your Hot Clarisse  Dress    The Clarisse dress collection is known for its dedication to elegance and glamour. And the 2008 Clarisse prom dress collection promises to not disappoint the bevy of teen age prom queens across the country. In your quest to perfect your Clarisse prom ensemble, you must take many elements into consideration.

  • Alright, trendy Clarisse gown, check.
  • Sassy hairdo, got it.
  • Shoes, what about the prom shoes?

Shoes are an essential part of your outfit, for both fashion and comfort reasons. For your piece of Clarisse perfection to be complete, you must select prom shoes to accentuate the beauty of your designer dress, while keeping you groovin’ on the dance floor all night long.    What Prom Shoe Styles Best Flatter My Clarisse Gown?

The upcoming spring Jovani collection continues to focus on its fashion-forward dress designs and styles. Short and long, beaded or simple, the Clarisse prom dress line has an expansive collection of trend-setting silhouettes. And such cutting-edge glamour deserves the perfect prom shoe, don’t ya think? If you have chosen one of the floor-length ball gown styled Clarisse dresses, be advised that it is most likely that your shoes will be covered, so elaborate styled prom shoes are not necessary. For the ball gown or a-line designed dresses, two styles that are favorites in the 2008 Clarisse  prom line, consider wearing flat or ballerina shoes. Both popular and comfortable, ballet flats have been a favorite prom shoe for the last few seasons, and a projected to once again be a huge hit for 2008. Short, cocktail dresses are also a favorite in the 2008 prom dress line. Higher heels and chunkier shoes work well with shorter prom dresses, so if you have decided on a hot, little cocktail dress, go all out! If your dress is highly embellished or has a bold design, be sure not to wear too extravagantly of a prom shoe. A clashing prom dress and shoe can turn you from a dance floor diva into fashion faux pas!    Prom Shoe Color and the Designer Clarisse Dress   Let’s talk color. Prom shoe color that is. Metallics, such as gold and silver, white, black and other neutral tones can be matched with virtually any colored Clarisse  prom dress. If you spring for brighter colored prom shoes, remember that the shoes should match the tone of your prom dress or be just a bit darker. Dyeable prom shoes have been a popular choice throughout the years, and will continue to tear up the dance floor at Prom 2008. Make sure that you let the dying company know if the prom will be held indoors or outdoors; while a dyed prom shoe may match your gown indoors, in outdoor light it can be a whole different story! Before your big night, assemble your complete prom outfit and see how the finishing product looks. You want to be a vision of beauty and glamour at your prom, Clarisse gown, prom shoes and all!

Celebrity Dresses for Homecoming or Prom

Looking for a little inspiration on your quest for perfect prom dresses or drop-dead homecoming gowns? Then look no further than Hollywood. The celebrity dresses that show up on Oscar night and at all those swanky after hour parties are the perfect inspiration for stunning gowns.

Maybe you want to look at homecoming gowns like the tuxedo inspired gem Mischa Barton wore to that post-Oscar party. As celebrity dresses go this shows how a woman can truly make a man’s item sexy.  It also shows that celebrity dresses can really work for different occasions.

Another of my favorite celebrity dresses is the one that actress Adriana Karembeau made famous at the Cannes Film Festival. Her elegantly beaded chocolate gown, with its sexy exposed plunge back, has inspired a similar Faviana gown that I just love.

Besides, the big deal about prom dresses and homecoming gowns is that you are going all out. Since most of us are not Hollywood starlets, the opportunity to wear celebrity dresses doesn’t come along everyday. So here’s your chance! Let the glamour and glitz of celebrity prom dresses be your inspiration on prom night or at that homecoming ball.
